I’m a second-year PhD student in Computer Science at the University of Illinois Chicago, working at the Electronic Visualization Laboratory (EVL).

I’m broadly interested in how we represent and communicate data to support human reasoning. Right now, my research focuses on how people form and refine interpretations during visual data exploration, and how statistical evidence and representations of uncertainty can support that process. I’m also interested in the role of LLMs in data analysis and visualization. I explore these questions by designing and developing interactive systems and conducting empirical studies of how people engage with them in analytical tasks.

Before UIC, I was a Machine Learning Engineer at ACI Limited in Bangladesh, where I built computer vision systems for retail and industrial applications, including crowd analytics for Bangladesh’s largest retail chain. I also explored 3D Gaussian Splatting for dense 3D reconstruction. During my undergrad, I did research on interpretable and efficient models for medical image classification. Along the way, I enjoyed competitive programming (ranked Expert on Codeforces), won Robi Datathon 3.0 (the premier data science competition in Bangladesh, with 1,000+ participants), and placed in several other ML competitions.
